Learning Outcomes: 1 Analyze interest rates as returns, costs, and risks, including effective annual rate and time value of money for various compounding scenarios. 2 Evaluate investments with NPV and IRR, understanding their pros and cons, and apply fixed-income security analysis. 3 Conduct equity valuation using different models, focusing on dividend impacts and valuation methods. 4 Apply capital budgeting principles, understanding project evaluations and capital structure impacts on valuation. 5 Analyze WACC, considering tax effects, capital structures, and debt and equity costs. 6 Develop portfolio management strategies, focusing on risk-return optimization and CAPM application, along with key performance metrics interpretation.
課程目標 Objectives
To equip students with the ability to comprehensively understand and apply key financial concepts and tools. This includes analyzing interest rates, evaluating various investment methodologies, conducting thorough equity valuations, applying capital budgeting principles effectively, understanding and analyzing the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) in different contexts, and developing effective portfolio management strategies with an emphasis on risk-return optimization and Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) application. The course aims to enhance students' proficiency in financial decision-making and strategic financial analysis, preparing them for real-world challenges in finance and investment.
授課方式 Teaching methods
Lectures, case studies, in-class activities (group discussions, self-reflection, problem-solving exercises), and video presentations. Guest lectures will be arranged and announced.
