課程大綱 Course syllabus

This course is designed for doctoral students who are interested in conducting research in human resource management (HRM) or organizational behavior (OB). In the field of HRM/OB, survey method is the most commonly used tool to explore people's attitudes, values, perceptions, and opinions. Students in this course will learn how to rigorously design, implement, and analyze survey questionnaires as well as interpret the results of the analyses. Though this course is intended for doctoral students who will be conducting research in OB/HRM, undergraduate students or master-level students who are interested in conducting survey research are also welcome to take this course. Because of the level of proficiency in statistics required in this course, students should obtain instructor’s approval before registering for this course.

課程目標 Objectives
　　　　　　　　 The learning objectives of this course are to help students:
1. Increase knowledge in sampling, item development, survey design, survey administration, survey analysis techniques, and survey results interpretation.
2. Gain hand-on experience in survey data analysis.
3. Apply knowledge and skills learned in their course to students’ thesis or dissertation project.
At the end of the course, students will learn knowledge on and skills in how to design and conduct surveys with more rigor.
