The course is designed to provide an in-depth examination of the nature and development of information systems. The focus is on how systems analysis and design (SA&D) theories, techniques, languages, models, principles, and tools can be applied, adapted, extended, and integrated in support of systems analysis and design activities. The orientation of this course is highly practical, with hands-on learning experience. The scope of the course aims to be state-of-the-art, emphasizing the implementation of CASE tool and the latest possibilities for modeling user requirement and designing or devising information systems with the support of CASE tools. No prior exposure to algorithm or networking is assumed. However, familiarity with business problems and programming is assumed.
課程目標 Objectives
(1) Understanding the models, theories, principles, languages, methods, and tools of SA&D. (2) Use our understanding of SA&D knowledge to rethink our conceptions of SA&D, and to develop an effective and solid perspective.
授課方式 Teaching methods
(1) Blended PCL (Participant-Centered Learning) and ICL (Instructor-Centered Learning) methods: Lectures, student presentations and class discussion. (2) System project-You will participate in a team that develops and demonstrates an information system in an applied area of your choosing. This “development” consists of requirement modeling, PIM modeling, MDA transformation, and system development. You will make several presentations and system demonstration during the modeling and system development processes. Due dates for submitting SA&D documents, PowerPoint, and prototype will be announced in class. Note:At the end of semester, the entire digitalized report for each team will be submitted and accompanied by one hard copy.
