This course aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to accounting and financial management concepts and techniques. In the first section, we will cover the basics of accounting and introduce financial statements, including the statement of financial position, statement of financial performance, and statement of cash flow. We will also discuss accrual accounting concepts and how they are used in the preparation of financial statements. Next, we will delve into financial statement analysis, including how to interpret and analyze financial statements to assess the financial health of a company. We will also cover budgeting and cost volume profit analysis, including break-even analysis and product mix decisions. We will also examine the concept of capital investment, including how to evaluate and make informed decisions about potential investments. Finally, we will discuss performance evaluation and the balanced scorecard, which provides a holistic approach to measuring and managing organizational performance. Throughout the course, we will use real-world examples and case studies to apply the concepts and techniques learned. By the end of this course, you will have a solid foundation in accounting and financial management and be well-equipped to make informed financial decisions in your business career.
