In this class we provide an overview of management theories in organizational behavior. We will review how workplace outcomes, such as performance, productivity, creativity, and helping behaviors, are influenced by individual’s affect, cognition, and behavior. We will explore how the workplace provides a unique situation in which social behavior occurs, attitudes are formed, and motivation is enhanced (or diminished). We will also learn to consider the important role context play in studying behaviors in the workplace.
課程目標 Objectives
1.Core Content Knowledge: To gain exposure and knowledge of topics related to management theories in organizational behavior in preparation for graduate coursework, comprehensive exams, applied projects, and future research. 2.Critical Thinking: To critically consider and assess the merits and weaknesses of specific theories, research methods, and field issues. 3.Professional Skill Development: To gain comfort with tasks such as critical analysis and discussion, presentations, locating current research, doing a literature review and thinking theoretically.
授課方式 Teaching methods
The method of study for this course will include a combination of research articles, class discussion, and empirical research proposal development to help students learn knowledge related to management theories and strengthen students’ ability to develop research ideas.

A comprehensive list of readings will be provided at the beginning of the semester. The class leaders are expected to obtain the assigned and supplemental readings through the library and upload them to the course Dropbox folder. You are expected to have a hard copy or electronic copy in class to refer to during discussion. You can expect to read about 3-5 articles a week. Allow at least 2 hours per article in your scheduling prior to class, as well as time to integrate them in your mind.

Internship: The required or elective courses should include credits and learning hours. Students should participate in the corporative company or institution to practice and learn the real skills. An internship certification must be handed in at the end of internship to get the credits or to fulfil the graduation requirements.
