In recent years, many Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have been sent to meet Lady Justice (Latin: Iustitia) whose attributes are a blindfold, a balance, and a sword. This course tends to provide a platform of “CEO vs. Iustitia” for students to learn and distinguish the professional, legal and ethical issues in the business environment. Then, the course theme is an overview of the complex legal and ethical issues that confront business. For this purpose, the course combines case studies, legal briefs, scholarly readings, and examples from current events to illustrate how law and ethics affect business professionalism. 課程目標 Objectives
This course tends to explore the ethical, legal, and professional dilemmas in business decision-makings, especially those challenges for CEO’s practice. Then, it provides students to examine those practical issues among professional, legal and ethical domains in the business environment. The core theme of course is designed to address the complex decisions that will confront business managers and owners as they balance the legal system and a desire to improve society. This course provides a global view of issues from both international and local cases, challenging the student to put aside personal feelings, judging the merits of the situation based on the facts and existing law. Under the ethical dilemma, students will learn how to review statutory and constitutional law and examine and understand business’s capacity to operate within our society. 因應企業與個人在市場中面臨的決策困境:倫理、專業與法律三者之間的抉擇?期待藉由這一課程,提供管理教育的學生對此趨勢有更寬廣的學習平台。
