本課程主要介紹區域與都市發展的課題與政策,以及如何就不同尺度的空間發展模式進行相關分析,透過跨領域的多元觀點來探討全球化的重要課題、區域與都市治理、政策形成與實施、規劃工具的運用等。課程兼顧理論與實際案例評析,介紹近二十年來主要的區域發展及城市治理思潮的理論概念、政策內容、以及衍生的議題與挑戰,範圍涵蓋亞洲及歐美的區域發展模式、中央與地方政府的經濟發展策略、基礎建設與城市再生計畫等。 The course aims to provide a common understanding of the influences affecting the process of regional and urban development, and to discuss the most important issues regarding globalisation, urban governance, policy-making, and planning tools from multiple perspectives. Through the integration of theory and practice in student learning, this course introduces urban and regional economic analysis, the development models of Asia, Europe and North America, the evaluation of urban policies and megaprojects, the economic development strategy of central and local government, and the study of institutional and political factors that impact regional and urban development. These perspectives will be applied to Taiwan and to a wide range of countries and cities through lectures and seminar debate.
課程目標 Objectives
1. 以兼顧宏觀與微觀的視角進行全球/歐美/東亞/台灣/高雄的個案分析,瞭解不同時空脈絡下的區域發展議題,從而培養思辯與政策規劃能力。 2. 兼顧理論與實踐。不論在研究上和教學上,本課程不但強調理論概念的深化,同時也著重政策參與的實際經驗與討論。 3. 科際整合的觀點。本課程以社會/空間/權力的連動作為知識建構的基底,探討空間與地方以及其政治層面之間的關係,系統性提供不同學科的論述與闡釋,從而建立跨領域的分析和對話能力。 1. The case study of global/Europe/North America/East Asia/Taiwan/Kaohsiung from both micro and macro perspectives: An understanding of regional development issues within different time-space contexts and the development of critical thinking and decision-making abilities. 2. The integration of theory and practice: An understanding of theories and concepts that are relevant to regional development and policy, but also the discussion of practical experience and public participation 3. Interdisciplinary approach: Ability to grasp the relationships between space, local society and politics based on the theoretical framework for the investigation of the interaction between society/space/power, and ability of accurate analysis and expound and effective communication.

Internship: The required or elective courses should include credits and learning hours. Students should participate in the corporative company or institution to practice and learn the real skills. An internship certification must be handed in at the end of internship to get the credits or to fulfil the graduation requirements.
