Human resource management provides major functions supporting business strategies and could be a source of competitive advantage. To better integrate human resource management with business strategies, human resource managers need to think strategically and act practically. This course aims to equip students with strategic mindsets and competence of designing and executing human resource management strategies. Students are required to read assigned materials, to answer questions, to discuss cases, and to write a case on a team basis. Through this course, students will learn about (1) the strategic role of human resource management and (2) how to design human resource practices that underpin business strategies.
