課程大綱 Course syllabus

         In recent years, the problem of declining birthrate has been plaguing the Taiwanese society. Hence, the Taiwan government has introduced the New Southbound Policy to encourage citizens having cultural exchanges and economic activities with emerging countries in the South. At the same time, due to the instability of political and economic environment in Hong Kong, the number of Hong Kong and Macau residents immigrated to Taiwan has been rising in recent years and has become a hot topic. Under this circumstance, the relationship between Taiwan and Hong Kong has become closer, which is very important to the development of Taiwan’s tourism and trade sectors. At present, there are about 100 million Cantonese-speaking populations in the world, and a British business consultancy has pointed out that Cantonese is more valued by employers than Korean and Japanese. Given this, this course aims to strengthen students’ communication skills with Hong Kong business partners through teaching basic business Cantonese and Hong Kong business political and social culture.
