課程目標 Objectives |
|
The purpose of this course is to provide students a understanding of various research methods so that they can: (1) develop interesting research questions; (2) effectively use the database to find out useful literature; (3) appreciate the strengths and comment the limitations of each academic paper; (4) propose rigorous research design based on the interested research questions; (5) understand the strengths and limitations of each statistical programs and choose appropriate statistical analyses based on the research design; (6) effectively perform the statistical programs (SPSS) to test hypotheses; (7) correctly interpret the meanings of results and discuss the implications of the findings. Hopefully, the students can apply these techniques to their thesis writing.

The teaching methods of this course include: lecture about the main topics of each research method, introduction about statistical programs (SPSS), interactive discussions, group presentation about academic papers, and group final research projects.
