課程大綱 Course syllabus

         Survey research is the method of gathering data from respondents thought to be representative of some population, using an instrument composed of closed structure or open-ended items (questions). Survey research is one of the most important areas of measurement in applied social research. Designing and conducting survey research has been a classic guide for many years for institutions and individuals interested in conducting or using surveys. The course will focus on the methodological work on designing and conducting surveys in general and in particular to illuminate and illustrate the principles and approaches that should be applied in designing high-quality survey for doing social science research.

         After completion of this course, the students are able to:
• Design a survey research
• Match the design and the survey objectives
• Understand the sampling issues
• Choose appropriate methods of data collection
• Formulate questions for different research questions
• Carry out a survey study
• Analyze the survey data
• Writing a research paper using survey research
