企業經營的本質在實踐,實踐的根本在人。人的一切不外由心智和行動和合而成,企業全體人員想了些什麼,做了些什麼,企業因此表現出成敗盛衰。華人的思想和行為有自己的傳承和特色,華人的企業經營無須完全照搬照抄西方管理理論。何況更有可與西方理論抗衡甚至勝出的管理哲學、兵法思想、治事方法、領導原理、成敗法則等。因此,一方面,本課程要從「孫子兵法」和「道德經」這兩部全球高度關注的經書尋找方法和論述,為企業經營實務遞上來自東方文化的思路和解方,以助全球管理學術進展。
另一方面,本課程將大量借鑑動態競爭理論的主要觀念、架構與工具。動態競爭理論特別重視策略管理的動態特質,被哈佛商業評論稱為「後波特時代的競爭優勢」;由於經營環境不斷變遷,只有「唯變所適」的企業才能與時俱進,在競爭中突圍而出。動態競爭理論採用組織-行為的視角來探討企業間競爭的重要課題。這個理論借用了許多既有觀點,也透過假說的檢視、多重視角的整合及不同分析層次的伸展補充了既有理論的不足,藉此檢視了許多以往未被重視的重要現象。這種平衡微觀與巨觀的方法,已經吸引了眾多學界研究者與企業界高管的高度關注。
本課程涵蓋的議題包括:發展與評估策略、辨識直接與潛在競爭對手、預測競爭回應、預備平台競爭,以及策略與執行的連結。藉由個案討論與實務議題的探討,本課程期望幫助DBA學生建立一個整合性的策略與競爭思維,並且實際運用在日常的經營管理之中。
Business management, by its very nature, is to practice. In practice, human is the fun-damental. What constitutes a human being is the combination of the cognition and the action. Thus, a firm’s performances, success or failure, rise or fall, is simply the out-come of what the personnel think and what they do. Since business conduct and thoughts in the greater Chinese area are distinct in tradition and characteristics, it is believed unnecessary to copy completely the management theory and practice from the west. There have been philosophies of managing, theories of the art of war, meth-ods of administering, principles of leadership, laws of success etc, all grounded in the Chinese philosophy and culture, that are comparable with or superior to that of the west. Hence, on one hand, the course aims to use Sun-Zi’s Art of War and Tao-Teh Ching, two of the world’s most notable Chinese-based classics, as the source of think-ing and methods on the business practice, in the hope of providing contributions from the east to the management theory and practice.
On the other hand, this course draws heavily from the key concepts, frameworks, and tools of the Competitive Dynamics Perspective, which is named by the Harvard Busi-ness Review as the “Competitive Advantage of Post-Porter Era”. Because of an ever-shifting business environment and competitive landscape, it emphasizes the dynamic aspects of strategic management.
Competitive dynamics adopts an organizational-behavioral perspective to study the important topic of interfirm competition. The perspective draws thoughtfully on vari-ous disciplines and complements existing disciplinary frameworks by relaxing their assumptions, integrating ideas from several theoretical lenses, and by spanning multi-ple analytical levels to examine vital phenomena that have previously been unrecog-nized or unexplored. This micro-macro balanced approach has attracted significant attention from scholars and business managers.

(5)學習以道家和兵家為基礎的經營實務
(6)提升學員從事產業與市場分析時的競爭思維與分析技巧。
(7)幫助學員了解高端的學術研究及其實務意涵。
(8)協助學員理解與企業策略擬定及執行攸關的內外在因素。
(9)透過密集的互動,協助學員形成一個學習社群。
(1) To study a win-loss appraisal scheme in terms of the five forces of Sun Zi
(2) To study the principles of the grounding leadership
(3) To study strategy crafting skills from the antithetical angle
(4) To study the view that the nature of execution consists in belief
(5) To study business practice from the angle of Taoism and the Art of War
(6) To enhance participants’ competitive thinking and analytical skills in conducting industry and market analyses.
(7) To expose participants to established academic research and its direct business implications.
(8) To strengthen participants’ understanding of the internal and external factors rele-vant to the development and execution of a firm’s strategy.
(9) To develop a learning community via intense interactions among all members of the class.
