課程大綱 Course syllabus

         This course centers on improving students’ English proficiency through four skills practices while raising their cross-cultural awareness. Textbooks, supplementary teaching materials and classroom activities provide students with more opportunities to learn collaboratively with peers and to communicate confidently in English.












課程目標 Objectives

         Upon completing this course, students are expected to achieve the following goals:
1. Identify both general messages and specific details in common everyday topics.
2. Clearly express his/her thoughts about abstract or cultural topics through group presentations.
3. Scan longer texts in order to locate desired information, and gather information from different parts of a text in order to fulfill a specific task.
4. Follow a template to write straightforward descriptions on a variety of familiar subjects.












授課方式 Teaching methods

         Lectures, class activities, and discussions
課程中間間隔休息一次10分鐘
若須同步遠距教學將採取Microsoft Teams或Google Meet進行線上授課,線上授課固定連結資訊將於網路大學課程公告板上公告。
**Course Regulations:
Students are required
1. to attend class on time or provide written explanation or official documentation for excused absence.
2. to bring the textbook and participate in class discussions and activities.
3. to do in-class /take-home assignments and submit assignments on time.
4. to take a speaking examination (Midterm Oral Presentation) and final examination.
5. to use cell phones or other electronic devices in class only for educational purposes (or medical reasons).
課程規定及注意事項:
1. 同學必須按時出席上課,無故遲到十分鐘以上,即視為缺課。若無法出席,請透過學校線上請假系統請假,未依規定請假者以曠課論。
2. 因缺曠而未參加的小考或課堂活動,無法提供補考或補救措施。
3. 上課須帶課本,課堂中請勿睡覺,未帶課本者和睡覺者依曠課論。
4. 作業須按時繳交上傳網路大學,遲交者無法上傳,因此不予計分。
5. 上課除課堂活動需要外,不得於上課時使用手機或其他電子設備。
