課程大綱 Course syllabus

         This course is designed for upper intermediate level students to develop their language skills in preparing and giving a clear, well-organized presentation. The course aims to enhance students’ oral communication and PPT presentation skills. It focuses on developing students’ communication skills that will give them the confidence to present their experiences, knowledge, ideas, and opinions. The course follows a process approach that emphasizes the step-by-step decisions and tasks that are involved in planning, composing, and delivering an effective presentation. Students will explore different topics, learn related vocabulary, and develop skills in structuring and delivering formal presentations that express an opinion or point of view. Students will practice presenting in groups first and then individually as the course progresses and their confidence improves.



課程目標 Objectives

         Upon completing this course, students are expected to achieve the following goals:
1. Become familiar with presentation techniques and strategies on how to give effective presentations on a range of topics in a variety of situations.
2. Improve their overall English oral proficiency and communicative competence.
3. Foster their confidence in oral expression and in delivering formal presentations.

         Lectures, English videos watching, and discussions
**Course Regulations:
Students are required
1. to attend class on time or provide written explanation or official documentation for excused absence.
2. to bring the textbook and participate in class discussions and activities.
3. to give a Midterm Group Presentation and a Final Individual Presentation.
4. to do in-class /take-home assignments.
5. to use cell phones or other electronic devices in class only for educational purposes (or medical reasons).
課程規定及注意事項:
1. 同學必須準時出席上課,無故遲到十分鐘以上,即視為缺課。若無法出席,請透過學校線上請假系統請假,未依規定請假者以曠課論。因缺曠而未參加的小考或課堂活動,無法提供補考或補救措施。
2. 上課須帶課本,課堂中請勿睡覺,未帶課本者和睡覺者依曠課論。
3. 必須在規定日期於課堂上進行期中小組和期末個人報告。
4. 作業須按時繳交上傳網路大學,遲交者無法上傳,因此不予計分。
5. 上課除課堂活動需要外,不得於上課時使用手機或其他電子設備。
