The subject of organizational behavior (OB) touches the “human” side of management. Topics in OB include job attitudes, personality, emotions, motivation, leadership, teamwork, decision-making, communication, power and politics, leadership, organizational culture, conflict and negotiation, and stress and well-being. This course provides an introduction to these concepts and topics. Through understanding these concepts and topics, you will develop your ability in managing organizations, teams, and individuals, and eventually become a more effective subordinate, coworker, or leader.

         Goal #1: Increase content knowledge relevant to the field of OB
Goal #2: Learn to apply OB theories and research to “real” world context
Goal #3: Develop your potential for leadership and management through enhancing abilities in decision-making, problem diagnosis, communication, and motivating and influencing others.

         The method of study for this course will include a combination of textbook, lecture, class discussion, and case study to help students learn knowledge related to organizational behavior and strengthen students’ ability to apply knowledge and theories.
