**Suitable for all levels** Bachelor, Masters and Exchange Students are all welcome! If English is not your native language, do not worry. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to Human Resource Competency Development! This course has been designed to help students develop a broad understanding of Human Resource Competency Development (HRCD). The course has two main objectives: (1) to develop an understanding of HRCD from an organizational perspective, and (2) to help students analyze their own skills, competencies, strengths and weaknesses - in relation to what employers expect and need. You will also have an opportunity to make plans for your future. The design is intended to help students become better informed and prepared for employment after graduation. The course mixes academic theory and personal self-reflection, to help students understand, reflect and make better informed decisions –as graduates entering the labor market, and as future managers. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a relatively more practical course - especially the second half of the course. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Course Instructor: Dr. David McConville. David has a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology, from the UK. He has been living in Taiwan for approximately three years, and is currently a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Institute of HRM at NSYSU. David's work has been published in applied psychology, HRM and management SSCI journals, including the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology and the International Journal of Human Resource Management. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any questions about the course, feel free to e-mail me!
