課程大綱 Course syllabus

This is a lecture course focus on advance in organizational theory in international business field. This course will introduce the fundamental concept of each important organization theory in international business issues. Furthermore, this course will discuss the possibility to apply the theoretical viewpoint in addressing the issues in general management field. International business field is the fast-growth and influential field in general management domains. Firm’s internationalization decisions, such as entry mode choice, the location choice, or even the level of globalization choice et al., are all critical strategic decisions in competitive advantage concerns. Thus, how to utilize the distinctive theoretical viewpoint to explain the antecedents and consequences of firm’s internationalization decisions is a capability for those Ph. D. students whom focus on general management field. The aim of this course is to enhance the capabilities of the Ph. D. students in searching agendas and asking right questions in the Ph. D. career. Additionally, this course tries to help the Ph. D. students find their position in the academic career. Furthermore, this course also tries to let the participants to develop the possible research agendas for future researches.




課程目標 Objectives

         Ph. D. students are expected to base their presentations and discussions on solid theories, analysis, managerial knowledge, innovative structure, and students' personal work experiences.
During presentations and discussions, please be sure not to provide examples from personal work experiences and obscure concepts only.

授課方式 Teaching methods

         Before every lecture, students are expected to review all chapters assigned. During lectures, 「each student」has to point out 2 arguments from 「each chapter」. Base on the argument, please provide real-life work experiences (cases) to further illustrate the argument. (students can either pro/cons to the argument).
