授課方式 Teaching methods
This course will adopt blending design. In a normal setting, weekly class will be separated into two parts. Students will be separated into different groups and make a 20-minutes presentation on the designated book chapters. Then, the instructor will guide students to discuss the weekly case. The selected teaching cases are ‘analytical’ cases. Students have to read them BEFORE class and contribute their idea in the class. As a practical-oriented course, students do NOT need to read theoretical papers. Instead, students have to read book chapters of popular science books. In the end of semester, each student group has to choose a platform related business or service and make their own group report and present this report in both oral and written forms. Students are expected to spend 2 to 3 hours OUTSIDE the lecture hours for preparing class material and complete weekly assignment. Moreover, this course uses Harvard Business School teaching cases as teaching material, which will cost around NT$1,000. Moreover, two popular science books are selected as compulsory reading, and cost around NT$800. For these reasons, students are highly recommended think twice BEFORE select this course. The following grading policy are for reference ONLY. The real grading policy will be determined in the 1st lecture. At last, not the least, this course is very demanding. Please do NOT select this course if you are not willing to spend extra study hours or you just want sweet credits...
