課程大綱 Course syllabus

In this course, we hope to help PhD students to learn advanced knowledge and skills in research method. By doing so, we hope the students can correctly design a research, collect valid data, write up a research report, and submit it to international journals.

課程目標 Objectives

         The purpose of this course is to provide students a understanding of various research methods so that they can: (1) develop interesting research questions; (2) appreciate the strengths and comment the limitations of each academic paper; (3) propose rigorous research design based on the interested research questions; (4) understand the strengths and limitations of each statistical programs and choose appropriate statistical analyses based on the research design; (5) effectively perform the statistical programs to test hypotheses; (6) correctly interpret the meanings of results and discuss the implications of the findings.

授課方式 Teaching methods

         The teaching methods of this course include: lecture about the main topics of each research method, interactive discussions, individual presentation about academic papers, and individual final research projects.
