課程目標 Objectives

         本課程的目標在協助學生學習資訊管理相關理論,並了解如何透過文獻整理及理論的探討,來建構論文的研究架構。具體目標及成效如下:
1. 了解理論在學術研究及實務上的角色
2. 學習現有的資訊管理相關的理論
3. 了解理論建構的過程
4. 學習理論評估的方法
5. 學習如何建構論文中的理論架構
6. 理解資訊管理相關的重要理論,提升論文研究及實務問題解決能力
7. 具備分析問題,抽象思考,及理論建構的能力
On completion of this course, students should be able to:
1.Understand the role of theories in research and problem solving;
2.Know prevailing theories in information systems research and applications;
3.Understand the concept of theory development and its role in information systems research;
4.Develop new information systems theories;
5.Evaluate information systems theories;
6.Assess the strengths and limitations of specific theories.

This is a graduate level course with a goal to prepare students for their research thesis. Therefore, the course will involve reading of theory-based material, and presentation of selected theories for evaluation. Students are expected to do the following:
(1)Identify theories of interest to their own research;
(2)Read assigned articles related to information systems theory;
(3)Actively participate in classroom discussion.
