課程大綱 Course syllabus

This course deals with competitiveness and interactivity in the global economy. The first part of the course covers theoretical and applied aspects of international trade such as comparative and competitive advantage, as well as trade policy and the role of multinational corporations. The second part covers the institutional foundations of national and regional competitiveness, with a focus on processes of interjurisdictional competition and cooperation.

課程目標 Objectives

         Upon completion of this course students will be able to:
1. Understand the basic theory of international trade
2. Apply theories of international trade to real-world problems
3. Understand the spatial relationships between different factors of production
4. Understand the role of multinational corporations and foreign direct investments in the world economy
5. Identify the factors that influence national and regional competitiveness
6. Pinpoint the organizational, locational and institutional factors that jointly influence a firm’s competitiveness in global and regional markets
