The purpose of this course is twofold. First, it focuses on the costing of manufacturing and activities in manufacturing industries. They include costing systems under different production processes, including accounting systems for materials, labor, and manufacturing overheads, job costing, process costing, cost behavior analysis, joint products and by-products costing, activity-based costing. The second part focuses on the uses of cost information, including information and decision making, capital budgeting, reasonability accounting, and profit variation analyses.
課程目標 Objectives
The purpose of this course is to prepare students with the capability for costing and using cost information to aid business decisions.
授課方式 Teaching methods
The class primarily include lectures. Students are required to review the weekly class materials for quiz in the following week. Each class will start with a quiz for randomly selected students.
