This is a lecture course focus on advance in international case, brand equity and emerging markets. This course will introduce the fundamental concept of important theories. Furthermore, this course will discuss the possibility to apply the theoretical viewpoint in addressing the issues in strategy management. The environment that firms confront is a fast-changing and influential field in strategy management domains. Firm’s internationalization decisions, such as entry mode choice, the location choice, or even the level of globalization choice et al., are all critical strategic decisions in competitive advantage concerns. Thus, how to utilize the distinctive theoretical viewpoint to explain the antecedents and consequences of firm’s internationalization decisions is a capability for those Ph. D. students whom focus on general management field. The aim of this course is to enhance the capabilities of the Ph. D. students in searching agendas and asking right questions in the Ph. D. career. Additionally, this course tries to help the Ph. D. students find their position in the academic career. Furthermore, this course also tries to let the participants to develop the possible research agendas for future researches.
課程目標 Objectives
The course familiarizes Ph. D. students with the related theory, case and analysis required of modern researchers in the field of international business management. This course demands the mastery of a body of analytical tools and the ability to take an integrative point of view. Ph. D. students can develop their research through: ‧ In-depth analysis of entry mode and sustainable competitive advantage; ‧ Techniques for analyzing how firms can formulate strategies at the various levels of international market, in particular those of business brand strategies, corporate strategies and cross border acquisition. ‧ Topics with particular emphasis on entry mode, sustainable competitive advantage, brand equity, strategic alliances, cross border acquisition and globalization.
