Organizational Theory and Management introduces an overview of research and theories in the field of organization studies. We will examine varied and rich aspects of organizational theory and discuss the antecedents of successful organizations, including organizational strategies, structures, designs, processes, and systems as well as culture, climate, and task environments. At the organizational behavioral level, concerns related to leadership decision-making, conflict management, politics, and strategic change will add in the analysis of concepts and issues. The emphasis will be on the study of organizations and the interaction with the general environment as well as the meta-lens of the fundamental concepts, ideas, and paradigms with changing events in the real world to help students understand organizational world and solve real-life problems.




課程目標 Objectives

         Upon the completion of the course, students are able to:
1.understand the relationships between theoretical perspectives and business practices in the field of organization studies;
2.develop expertise in using levels of analysis from several theoretical perspectives and explaining the systemic relationship between environment, adaptation, and change; and
3.integrate theories with methods to utilize business, corporate, and collective strategies in enacting and enhancing firm’s effectiveness.





授課方式 Teaching methods

         1.Lectures are guided by tutorials and group discussion.
2.Students are required to present on a particular issue or journal articles in organization studies (group-based approach).
3.The outlines of individual term paper presentation will be carried out on a particular issue in line with term paper topic.
4.At the end of this course, individual term paper will be submitted to the instructor.
