|
本課程裝備學生領導及跨文化溝通的理解及應用,修課學生可習得軟實力技能,文化意識和敏感性,拓寬國際視野,本全英文授課課程亦提供本校學生與國際交換生之合作學習機會,引導他們個人領導力發展的終生學習計畫,應用到個人生活及專業發展。(兩學分, 三小時課) In the global setting of the current business world, an effective leader must be equipped with competencies to play roles of either being an independent contributor, a team leader, or a manager .Consequently, the goal of the course is to help prepare students for effective service in the cross cultural context and for employability skills outside of their native countries. The course will emphasize both theory and practice to facilitate personal leadership growth in the awareness, knowledge, and skills necessary for successful engagement across cultures. It will also provide opportunities and tools for local and international students to interact with each other in a challenging and collaborative environment for cultural and language exchange. This course is in “Dimension 3: Citizenship and Global Perspective” in the University’s General Education Program.

課程目標 Objectives |
|
The course is designed with interesting and challenging in-class activities to develop students’ leadership competencies through cross-cultural collaboration among students from diverse cultural backgrounds with three major components: Awareness, Knowledge, and Skills. A. Awareness: 1. Students will build intercultural awareness through a sense of humility, empathy, and respect for diversity and difference. 2. Students will understand the basics of cultural formation, perception, communication, and behavior on an interpersonal level. 3. Students will be encouraged to be curious towards continual learning and experience in the intercultural field. 4. Students will lay the foundational groundwork for doing work and service across cultures B. Knowledge: 1. Students will develop their personality, talents, strengths, passion, personal mission statement, and leadership developmental path. 2. Students will demonstrate an understanding of leadership, including cross cultural communication and presentation techniques to apply to daily life. 1. Skills: 1. Students will build friendships and work together with team members from different nationalities. Students will perform effective presentation skills in the second language, English for local students and Mandarin for international students.
