|
This course provides the fundamental knowledge of human resource management (HRM) for undergraduate level students. The key concepts of HRM, including the recruitment, placement, training, development, compensations and labour relations, will be covered,

課程目標 Objectives |
|
After finishing this course, students are expected to equip fair understanding of the key concepts and contemporary issues of HRM. They should not only be familiar with the theoretical knowledge, but also be able to apply the knowledge in a real world situation.

授課方式 Teaching methods |
|
This course is lecture-based. Case studies and group discussion will also be implemented to assist students applying abstract concept to their daily lives. Curricular participation is crucial in this course. Students are requested to express their opinions in class or in e-Learning system. Certain points will be awarded based on the frequencies and quality of students’ participation. In order to keep order in the classroom, students who disturb the proceeding in the class will be deducted 3 points of the final grades each time. The grading of written assignments will be deducted 5% and 10% if students failed to submit them on time. Moreover, NO grade will be awarded if students failed to submit their assignment within 48 hours after the due day. Special grade will be awarded to students who provide service to the class. Students have to enter the classroom on time during the exams. No re-exam will be provided for students who fail to sit in exams In the end of semester, students have to submit the ‘peer evaluation form’ to assess the performance of their group members. The final grade of these group activities will be adjusted based on this peer evaluation system. The grading guide, provided here, is for provisional only, and may change based on the agreement of students in the first lecture.
