課程大綱 Course syllabus

         This course is provided for undergraduate first year students. It aims to provide a basic understanding of what a business is and how a business operate in the economic system.

課程目標 Objectives

         The main objective is to make students appreciating how a business should/can operate in the market
economy, and to develop required soft skills in business environment. Hence, the basic concepts in the field of business studies, such as business ethics, human resource management, operation and production management, financial management, marketing management, and innovation management, will all be discussed in this course. After studying this course, students are expected to comprehend basic ‘jargons’ and concepts related to business studies, and have the communication and team-working skills.

授課方式 Teaching methods

         This course is lecturing-based, and will adopt a question-based, interaction oriented approach.
Students are will be separated into 10 groups. Students will be requested to participate in discussion, including both ‘in-class’ and in e-learning system. Besides, students will be separated into 10 groups to conduct group works, such as presentation and written assignment.
