課程大綱 Course syllabus

This course can help students with an understanding of the theoretical and empirical viewpoints of finance and accounting. Its content entails the important concepts, principles and procedures and limitations that form a basis for finance and accounting theory development, which are applied in contemporary practices such as capital market reactions, contracting, earnings management, fair value measurements and international accounting standards, etc. Additionally, this course also provides some empirical methodologies in financial and accounting studies to develop students' skills and logical thinking of academic research.

課程目標 Objectives

1. To introduce the evolution and the conceptual framework of financial and accounting theory.
2. To understand the relationship between finance and accounting theory in the capital market.
3. To explore current financial and accounting issues based on some theoretical and practical viewpoints.
4. To cultivate the skills and logical thinking of academic research.
